Random Acts of Kindness Community Building Model, PA
Conceived and implemented a six-year community led initiative to address multiple social challenges, including youth gangs, in a Pennsylvania town of 15,000 residents. Using the concept of kindness as a community mobilizing tool, the project started in schools and grew to involve after-school programs for youth, arts events and service learning. Delivered training on the model to national audiences in California, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
The Helix Project, Falkirk, Scotland
Consulted on regeneration and engagement strategies on the Helix, a partnership to transform public land through capital projects and green spaces. Facilitated multi-partner agreement on public art installation for the Abbotshaugh Woodlands.

Prepared and delivered workshops on collaboration in human services and youth programs; facilitated dialogue between public and third sector leaders aimed at increasing innovation and collaboration in addressing social needs.

Worked with multiple community-based and regional organizations on building skills and tools for effective inter-organizational partnering leading to better service outcomes for local residents (according to researchers).
Co-led a professional team to convene three hundred middle managers to improve communication among multiple business units.

Developed European links and exchanges for faculty and students of community development. Co-designed and facilitated international symposia on Health Inequality in the USA and Europe (2003) and Social Inclusion and Mental Health (2008). Designed and led tour of innovative community- based projects in Belfast and Dublin. (2011) Consulted on University/Community partnerships for the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University (multi-year).
Art in Communities: Confluence — Song & Spoken Word, Pittsburgh, PA
Brought together local and international writers and songwriters and held free public events that showcased collaborative performances by artists of colour and those of Anglo European heritage thereby opening dialogue on the impact of racial segregation on social space in cities and towns.

Provides "turnaround" leadership as Interim Executive Director of the Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) Pittsburgh, PA. Guides Board and staff through program and organizational transition; expands partnerships with regional agencies to increase the impact of support services to community development organizations; liaises with Mayor’s office, City government and foundation partners; manages contracts, develops program proposals and budgets, supervises staff; initiates a strategic action plan to align CTAC for renewed impact.
